I am planning to purchase my first handgun shortly and was wondering what my best option was. I am buying the gun for shooting at a range only, mainly for fun, and to learn. I have fired a wide range of caliber and style handguns and like 9mm quite a bit. I was thinking about a beretta 90 - two or a beretta 92 series, any thoughts?
First time handgun buyer looking for advice?
9mm would be the caliber to buy for cheap fun. I mean .22lr would be the cheapest but if you want something that has multiple uses in the future 9mm is the way to go. 9mm is my favorite round.
Beretta makes a great handgun. I have shot the 90-two and I owned the Px4 Storm. They are both great. The reason I got rid of my Storm is the trigger got a little annoying for me. I am more of a Double Action Only (DAO) trigger guy.
My favorite handgun is the Springfield Armory XD. I think they are the most comfortable and natural shooting for me.
I also like the Ruger SR9. (what I traded my Storm for) and my buddies Taurus 24/7 Pro.

Taurus also make their version of the Beretta 92 series

i agree Beretta is a great set of guns but personally for recreational shooting i prefer the .38 special double+single action also if you are willing to go on the more expensive side perhaps my favorite handgun would be a .44 colt super black hawk a beautiful gun but unfortunately it was custom and i don't know the original quality of the gun
Beretta makes fine firearms! I personally love the Px4, but it is a bit expensive. However, to find the right gun for you I suggest you go to a range that rents guns and try as many as you can.
Just remember the price of ammo goes up with the caliber. (.22 will be cheaper, but I find 9mm is more fun)
Your best choice is the tried, true, tested, and proven 357 Magnum in a 4 or 6 inch revolver, because you can also shoot 38';s in a 357 Magnum. You get two (2*) handguns for the price of one.* It also is the best no-nonsense man stopper bar none.* Use 125 grain jacketed hollow points if you are ever going to use it for self-defense.*
buy a shotgun instead
