Bored of my job but scared to do anything different, advice please?

I am really bored of my day job. I have transferable skills I have changed organisations many times, but basically I do the same thing in each new organisation which is what I am specialised in. Of course being specialised means more money - but its so boring! Doing something new will be out of my comfort zone and mean on a salary scale I start at the bottom.Bored of my job but scared to do anything different, advice please?
For right now and until the economy has straightened out, stay right where you are. Suck it up, do your job and put as much money back as possible.Bored of my job but scared to do anything different, advice please?
Because of the current economic climate, redundancies are at an all time high and so is unemployment. So at the moment its best to appreciate that you are employed. In addition a common problem in the workplace is bullying and if someone is not being bullied then that is a gem of a place to work. I would advise, in the times that your not working to attend some part time training that is vocational, whether it be boosting your ICT skills or communication skills. Or you could do some voluntary work, you will meet new people, have fun and learn new skills and it would look fabulous on your CV. At the moment there are alot of bankruptcies and shops going into administration, I would say for the next year at the very least stick it out.
Its the wrong time to leave any job.

But while you are earning, is definitely the right time to start thinking about the next job, and if you know what it is, working on any qualifications or skills to give you a flying start.

Good luck!!!!
Doesn't look like you can do anything then does it if you cannot take a drop in salary. it is the wrong time economically to be considering anything like that now though anyway.
You should probably stick with it considering the economy. Many people are not as fortunate to be in your position. I think being bored with your job is a lot better than being jobless.
