Do you find it easier to give good advice, but have problems in your own life that need help?

This is my problem! I have always naturally fit the role of a therapist or counseler, yet have problems in my own life I can't seem to get a handle on.Do you find it easier to give good advice, but have problems in your own life that need help?
Doctors won't operate on themselves, and chefs like to be cooked for as well sometimes. Understand what I am saying? Sometimes if we have a problem then there's no shame in seeking another's support. If you have nothing against councellors or therapists , seek one yourself and talk your problems through. Everyone needs support and we aren't expected to always help ourselves.

It doesn't matter how intelligent you are, you won't see a doctor operating on his own heart-so don't try to symbolically operate on your own heart-Let someone else come in and help you.Do you find it easier to give good advice, but have problems in your own life that need help?
It's probably why we do this as our own lives hinge on the brink of disaster.....I laugh and yet I think it's much easier for people to help others because me can keep the ';emotion'; out of our opinions therefor able to be more objective. My older sister could cure all the ills in the universe but let her break a nail and she immediately falls asleep.
yes exactly i cant seem to apply to same logic to my life
Everyone experiences that. The problem is that you don't listen to yourself or don't have the confidence to believe your words. I listen to me and so far I have no problems.
me2, I just can't handle my life....:-%26lt;
Yep. I give great advice but I can't seem to follow it at all....
thats usually how i am too. my friends come to me for advise all the time but whenever i have a problem, i always spend waaaaaaaay too much time thinking into it. and whenever i ask my friends for advise they give me advise that i had previously given them.
same here... but it comforts me when i help others solve their problems
It's a lot easier to give advice than it is to implement it. I find advising others to be personally therapeutic. It encourages me to to look deeper into myself to find the appropriate advice to offer. Eventually, as you share your words of wisdom with others, you learn to trust yourself, and practice what you preach.
This is very common. Sometimes when we refuse to deal with our own problems we start to see those problems in the lives of others. This also suggest that you are an extrovert. Extroverts report that they are happier than introverts. It is possible for you to balance this area of your life by making a concious change. The less energy you spend giving what you imagine to be good advice to other people... the more energy you will have to resolve your own problems. If you are so extroverted that you simply cannot reflect on your own life because you are so distracted by the lives of those around you - take heart that in healing others we take a step towards healing ourself.
Yes, it's easier to see solutions for others because we're not emotionally attached like we are with our own issues.
