What's the best advice you can give to someone who wants to be a Pre-k Teacher?

I already work in the Pre-k classroom as a T.A. I have my college degree, I just need to pass the ec-4 test and complete the certification program. Should I start making my own lesson plans as if I were the teacher, should I make my own projects with the teacher and students? What's the best advice you can give to someone who wants to be a Pre-k Teacher?
The best advice I would give you is to try to teach kindergarten instead (and to get the certification to do that). Also, some states public school systems have special ed preschool, and perhaps you could teach that. Basically - teach for the public school system instead of for Head Start or for a private preschool. You'll make twice as much money and have better benefits. Otherwise, you may begin teaching preschool and even with your college degree, only make $15000-20000 per year. You'll do a lot of the same kinds of activities both places - it's much more worth it to teach with the public system.

Here's an example - I'm teaching at a public elementary school for my 2nd year, and I earn about twice the amount that my mother does after teaching preschool for 30 years.

That said, yes, if you are motivated to, it would be great to begin making your own project ideas. Also, start saving materials you'll need for them! My mother spends so much time going to yard sales looking for stuff to use in her classroom. If you have time, read books about working with children and teacher magazines. They'll give you more good ideas. What's the best advice you can give to someone who wants to be a Pre-k Teacher?
I think that you really need to love teaching, because teaching is under paid... i mean under paid. I tought economics for 2 years to pay off my student loans and i did not enjoy it at all. I went back to the corporate world. Hope it helps..
you shouldnt do too much to get ur hopes up,but u could start thinking about some activities to do with them, but just remember to be patient in two ways: waiting to be accepted and to be patient with the kids if u do get it.
