Can anyone give me advice on getting your first job and how to act?

I'm sixteen and i'm applying for my first job at a local market. It's like fifteen minutes away because i live out in the middle of nowhere. I'm really scared that i'm going to be lacking in a lot of communication skills because i get nervous around people that i don't know... I'm hoping that the people there will like me but who know's.Can anyone give me advice on getting your first job and how to act?
try to understand the basic nature of emplyment:

you are selling your time

the purpose is so their business makes a profit

they make more off you than they pay you

how you act with customers influences their profit

what can you do to make their business great.

they will ';like'; you if you are a great employee.

getting there on time is important. dress and attitude are important. accuracy is important. do everything very well

even when they are not watching. Can anyone give me advice on getting your first job and how to act?
Well...when I was fifteen I got my first job at McDonalds (dont laugh). I was pretty shy and made a lot of goofy mistakes but as I grew older I learned what not to do and learned extra things I should do. Working in a market is really good experience becuase you're working with people. Just remember to learn from your mistakes and when you go in to ask for the application dress your absolute best! You may be talking to the person who is ultimately responsible for hiring you. Fill out the application at the market and ask to speak to the manager about the job. Be very outgoing and bright but also remember to be professional. Make your best impression. I am sure you'll do great!!
It is normal to be nervous in new situations. You'll do fine. People remember what it is like to start a new job, and you'll likely have friends before you know it. It is a lot like starting a new grade in school.

Follow policy as much as you can, show up when you're scheduled and be on time, and try to be PRODUCTIVE for the company while you're being paid (not just busy). Welcome to the 'working world'.
