I have a friend who never really learned how to socialize. I'm not saying that in a bad way, but it's just the truth. He's asked for advice on how to make friends, keep friends, interact, and all that.
My question is, what advice would you give to such a person? I'm writing out a paper for this.

I'd suggest knowing the rules, program of the event he wants to attend. Homework, and practice.
Learn to dance. Learn to dress and eat - and practice before going out with people that know him.
Learn about the story in English before attending opera for the first time. Learn what to expect before going to big events like that too.
Read the newspaper front to back. Sports, local news - and read current and classic books.
Understand double entendres and puns, and why Simpson's and South Park are funny verbally like understanding Popeye verbally - not just visual jokes. Words are important. Don't open your mouth unless you can contribute to the subject being talked about. As guys never talk about shades of nail polish or who designed what gown - usually because guys never practice this knowledge. Stereotypes are also to be avoided - as women can weld and many are mechanically minded as any man. And visa versa - some men do know fashion, make up.
Oh, my is it too late to have his Dad and Mom talk to him about all this stuff? From a family moral point of view, traditions, etc.
He should have been paying attention when he was 4,5, 6,7,8, as each year brings more to practice. By 12 there are dances. By middle school there is cliches and groups form.
Also there is rural, subburbian, city type stuff I do not know about. Can he tip a cow? Does he know what chip throwing is? Does he know train/bus schedules and can move around town?
I hope this is of some help.

Maybe this person is just shy. It is hard to say because what works for one doesn't work for everyone, but they could start by opening up in social situations. They can start out small by just choosing one person to interact with. Make sure they are up on their current events so when things come up they can give their opinion and join into the conversation. Most of all they can be the one to invite someone out or over to their house rather than waiting for an invitation.
I think casual, encouraging pointers along the way would help him.
like for example, if you are in the mall with him and you witness some person making a gesture that is more ';advanced'; in terms of social etiquette and bring his attention to it and tell him to notice what the person did. be friendly and nice about it.
Every day, do something kind for someone.
maybe some sociology books may be a good place for him to start. Is it possible that he is just shy? Whay has he not learned how to interact? If he grew up/lived in a society he must have. Maybe he just THINKS he does not know how but really just has a different way about it.
I say, as a friend of his, to be a parent for him in some regards. People who are socially inept just didn't socialize as much growing up, by choice or not. They're just behind everyone else, and need to learn how to get by. I know plenty of shy people who are perfectly sociable. Don't be afraid to tell him how things work. Give reinforcement and if it seem slike he needs guidance, give it to him. He's just gotta learn. And his ineptitude has probably caused some anxiety when it comes to his self confidence and social situations. Make sure he knows that we're all individuals, and people are allowed to act how they want, but there are some basic rules we all need to follow to function in society, retain friendships and gain respect from others.

take your rubbish home with you and dispose of it properly - keep a spare carrier bag in your bag for exactly this purpose;
don't pick wild flowers or dig up plants to take home with you - take a picture, it'll last longer;
do'nt damage trees, hedges, fences, or anything that you don't own;
water is the most valuable recyclable resource, and the easiest to recycle - use less and get water butts - even balconies can get these, I've read, though I don't know from where; there are also small composters for balconies;
it's never ';someone else's problem'; - it's yours, mine and everyone else's!
Ours is about the last generation that can make a difference - act so your grandchildren's grandchildren will bless you rather than ask, ';why didn't they do something when there was a chance to change things?';
I've explained to my kids that climate has always changed, and that it always will. Every dinosaur book has geologic timelines that even little tykes can understand.
That way, they're not freaked out when Leftist Political Whores incessantly claim the world will end if we don't turn off our cars.

you could tell them about the different bargain you could get by buying from farmer's markets instead of those store bought fruits and vegetables because the government would pay less money to use pesticides on farms or fields and that will help the environment a lot

Shooting a cheerdance competition with the Nikon D40x, advice?
I'll be getting the Nikon D40x tomorrow, and as a first time DSLR user, I want the cheerdance competition of my sister to be my first ';project';. As much as possible I want to have good photographs.
I wonder, since cheerdances are mostly girls moving consistently (dancing), will the D40x capture objects/people in motion accurately without problems? Are there any settings I need to adjust in the camera?

In addition to the pointers above, you can consider using the continuous shooting mode, which will give you about 3 frames per second. See page 32 of your user manual (or ';Shooting Modes, continuous'; in the index, if it's not on page 32) for more information. Don't try to take a frame-by-frame video of the whole event, but use the camera in short bursts when something is happening that you want to capture. This will make it much more likely that you WILL get that peak of the jump or whatever. Shoot of 3-5 frames when you think you want to capture that ';moment'; in time and you probably will get it.
It's not cheerleaders, but check out http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstei鈥?/a> The sequence comes up backwards, so ';read'; from right to left. This goose landing was captured in a burst lasting only one second. Actually, I was using 3 frames per second, so the time from the first image to the last was exactly one second. Things happen quickly! (Zero, 1/3 sec, 2/3 sec, 1 second.)
You will NEED a larger card than the camera comes with and you will need a decent write speed if you are going to use continuous mode. You want at least a 2 GB SD memory card. I recommend a genuine Sandisk Ultra II (60X) or Extreme III (133X). Lexar is another excellent card supplier and they have the ';Professional'; 133X as well as the Platinum 80X to choose from. Both Lexar and Sandisk come with image recovery software and limited lifetime warranties. Nikon recommends these brands, as well as Toshiba and Panasonic. The manual states, ';Operation is not guaranteed with other makes of cards.';Shooting a cheerdance competition with the Nikon D40x, advice?
As I see it, you will have no problem with it. Many experts say that it is one of the best of Nikon 's Models. Oh, and also, if it can't capture the picture without bluring, then try reading the manual for the settings you can change. Although sometimes when you do that the quality might not be the best but it will not make a blurry picture.
Just get as close as you can to the front!
and of course practice, and play around with the settings!!
Although for moving subjects - putting the camera in the mode 'Shutter Priority' (S) and finding a speed that suites.
You will need to use a high ISO - 800, maybe 1600. If the camera has Noise Reduction use it. If not you'll have to use an after-market program to ';clean up'; images shot at ISO 1600. (Your images will have a lot of ';digital noise'; at ISO 1600.)
You'll need that high of an ISO to keep your shutter speed at a minimum of 1/125; 1/250 would be better. This will allow you to capture the continuous movement of the competition.
Try a few with intentional blur with a slower shutter speed. It shows movement and can be especially effective if there are stationary figures in the background.
Watch for ';peak'; moments - when the cheerleader is at the top of a jump or during a back flip.
You didn't say what lens you'll be using but its likely you'll be at or close to wide open (f2.8? f3.5?) so focus will be critical. Unless you have the Nikon AF-S or AF-I lenses you will have to use manual focus.
Turn your flash off - it will be useless in the gym.
A monopod could be useful.

Bring a tripod (or a monopod if there's not much space around you). It won't freeze the cheerleader's action but you still might get a motion blur effect out of them.
Sometimes I would let myself undercompensate my picture for -1/3 to -2/3 EV and let Photoshop brighten the picture afterwards but I only use that as one of the last option. Most of the time the overall color will be really unnatural.
I usually use manual setting or shutter priority but that's just me.
As always it isn't the camera but the photographer. But the photographer need able camera. D40x can do that.
I own a D70 and if D40x is anything near like the D70 then you would have no problems. Just learn these things:
ISO setting
Manual exposure
Shutter priority
Unless you can get very close to stage you will have to depend on the stage lighting. In my experience the stage light is very bright and you would not have much problem with light levels.
You will need to use higher ISO setting to be able to stop motion. I believe that ISO 800 is very usable setting. Don't trust the LCD. Everything looks good in that tiny screens.
Learn to use the manual exposure and shutter priority. You will find that if the background color is very dark or light, you will end up with wrong exposure. So then you will have to kick it in manual exposure.
No matter what don't promise any thing for the first time around. Anytime you use new equipment at new setting, use the first time as an experimentation.

If you will be shooting indoors, then you will have an available light issue. To shoot things like this you'll need fast glass(f/1.8 or f/2.8) and probably a zoom lens that is fast at that. If it's like any of the cheerleading competitions I've been to, you'll not be able to get as close as you'd like. I'm guessing that the kit lens you're getting with the D40x will not be fast enough. The camera is capable, but here we are talking about the lens not being up to the challenge.
Flash is probably not allowed, or even if it is, you'll not be close enough or it to be of any use.
You'll need a fast shutter speed, probably in the 1/125th to 1/500th of a second range, which means a large aperture and high ISO.
Believe it or not, even though you think that the lights in a gymnasium are ';bright';...they are not to a camera lens. Your eyes adjust to the dim light pretty fast and have more range than film or a digtial sensor.
Nopw, if you luck out and this is outside, and you have a nice bright sunny day or even better an overcast day...then you should be good to go. Your only issue then is range. If you fget the 18-55mm kit lens, you might need something longer, as you might still run into the issue of how close you can get to the floor.

can tell you the only thing that worked for me was finding a support group.. im a member of nicotine anonymous, and Attend meetings both online, and locally... online voice meetings are as close as your computer.. there is really no wrong way to quit.. however you decide to proceed good luck!!!

Totally agree with Indiegyrl, I also said that recently to my BF.... that he had stopped having those nice gestures he used to have when we first started dating. Also, I wish he wasn't as cheap.... he never wants to spend in us and also expects me to pay half of everything even though I lost my job a couple of months ago (he isn't working either), and that really makes me mad. I work in a small store with about fifteen people that are employed there. There is constant complaints about everyone else in the store. Even if it doesnt involve me at all people will flock to me and tell me. Anyways, it urges me to want to talk badly about people too and I hate it. I would tell myself to start exercising, i have arthritis,and it is becoming increasinly dificult to maintain. i have physical and mental health issues, and exercise helps both, i keep giving myself the advise but i cant get a grip and actuall do it,. Im 50 now, things dont get easier to do as you age, besure to spend your youth wisely.
and one thing i regret, a huge change of life style that was troublesome, i could have had some really bad problems, i would have slapped myself around and tell me to knock it off and get back with the program. i did sliten to that , life is better now, still gotta work on the EXERCISING!!!

I used to be so playful and fun to be around, and then I started to take life too seriously. People tell me I lost my sense of humor. Cute kids and baby animals don't give me the soft and fuzzies like they use too. The hobbies and long walks in the woods, concerts, gone. I am being treated for bipolar depression, and I've recently started crafting again, but my one regret is that I let this disease go so long that it's going to take a good part of my life to get back to good. I keep thinking, that people need to learn coping skills that are healthy. So many people drink or do drugs, stuff their feelings, act out, break the law, you name it. Even worrying is a useless emotion, what does it get you ? Like me. But I was never taught how to handle things without doing all of the above. So, if you love the beauty of life, but feel your losing your ';self'; due to stress and anxiety, life situations, etc, seek help before you become bitter and angry. Another words, ';Don't forget to stop and smell the roses!'; No one is going to do it for you....
Wow, my answer is so ';Debbie Downer'; compared to yours, but I hate to see someone young at heart go the road I did. AND, my perms looked stupid!

Well, since this is the Hockey area I guess you should start with a hockey rink and have the water a hundred feet long, fifty wide and half an inch deep. You can keep stingrays, flounders and brine shrimp and splash around in it in your free time. Can I come over to pet your stingray?
i definitely reccomend trying out a big freshwater tank, first.. then going to a small saltwater. I know the fish are cooler in saltwater, but it is definitely a TON of work... lots of things u always have to look for and keep an eye on. I'd rather have another dog than a saltwater tank, haha, i'd see it as less work.

T-80 is the tank I'd prefer. It can drive in salt water too! It's very harmful towards fish though.

i definitely reccomend trying out a big freshwater tank, first.. then going to a small saltwater. I know the fish are cooler in saltwater, but it is definitely a TON of work... lots of things u always have to look for and keep an eye on. I'd rather have another dog than a saltwater tank, haha, i'd see it as less work.

Develop your characters with personality quirks, flaws, and other traits to make them human and likeable. Also, make notes on all the little details of what's going on in your stories so that you can keep track of things and don't have plot holes all over the place.
Finally, be prepared to take *brutal* criticism. Editors working for publishing houses are not always nice, and some of them are actually kind of mean. Consider the criticism that is constructive and take it into account before making revisions.

Always spellcheck and proofread (even professionals make typos now and then).

Reliable providers include 7City, BPP and Kaplan. I have not tried any of them, but they have all been around for a while and I do not get the feel they are iffy. They all roughly agree on how long the courses take etc. and BPP was approved as a university by the british government earlier this year. The IMC, SII Certificates, CeFA, CeMA and the Financial Planning qualifications of the CII. Those are all professional qualifications, but they are surprisingly short. My husband is joining the army and going into Intelligence- any advice?
He is starting out as an E4, as he has his masters degree already. He is going for Intelligence training. We have a young child, and I know you usually do not get the base you request, but any advice for which base to put on our list, just in case? Why he is going enlisted with his master's and not Officer Candidate School is one thing. I'd recommend he look into the OCS route if he's already signed his enlistment contract. Better pay, opportunities and can still be in MI field, or even direct commission route. Needs of the army is usually how they decide what post you'll be headed to, after basic he'll be in AZ for quite a few months for his AIT advanced individual training, then off to his post of choice/need. I'd expect to see him to go to a unit which is already deployed or about to deploy to theater. Once you get a better idea of where you're going to be stationed at, get in contact with the FRG, or family readiness group for your unit/post and you'll find plenty of support for your family. Its been more than 4 months now and he is yet to pay back my lease amount, but demanding for the house keys. But this has the catch if you give back the keys you don't have anything with you! so try to understand the real situation as to what your landlord really intends to do.

Can anyone give advice on a decent estate car to buy?
I do a lot of camping/outdoor stuff so need something that is capable of driving on bumpy tracks and in fields etc. It needs to be pretty cheap to run as I will be using it to drive 40 mins to work and back daily. Would like some Advice on raised veggie garden beds?
I was thinking of creating some 3ft by 5ft raised beds, but don't know how tall to make the beds. I was planning on using 2x6's or 2x8 boards, or should they be made higher? Just to go to the 2x8's instead of the 2x6's, increases the lumber price to almost double. Thanks, and any advice would be appreciated. I'm trying to make my ugly veggie garden look better and more controlled.Would like some Advice on raised veggie garden beds?

Use cedar instead of pressure treated lumber as it has chemicals in it. Raising the garden not only makes it easy for your back but can also promote family, community, and friendship involvement because tit is less labour intensive.
Below the raised garden is the Storage area for all the materials you and friends require for your new garden design.
We are not getting any younger, so height and space help us deal with these issues.

I need some advice on running the boston marathon?
Im an overweight diabetic who has always wanted to run the Boston marathon.. for the past few months ive gotten into a new routine of working out 3x a week.. I was wondering if you had any tips on what would make this run a little easier being a diabetic and all.I need some advice on running the boston marathon?
In the early stages, the main thing is to establish a regular sustainable routine and not get injured when you're at your most vulnerable. Your body is going to simply take time to start adapting to things, and it's perfectly fine to do stuff as a walk or run-walk early on to help it.
After you've been training for awhile, you can start to think more about increasing mileage, and training for things like half and eventually full marathons.
Qualifying for Boston can be pretty darn tough these days, and there are lots of people who train very hard for years who never achieve it. It can be a pretty tight standard. They do allow some charity entries every year though, so even if you never qualify, there are other ways to do it.
Anyway, I'd break your goal down into smaller stages, and take things one at a time. If you can eventually work towards completing a marathon -- any marathon, and one that doesn't have a tight prior qualifying time required like Boston -- you should be pretty darn proud of yourself.
The vast majority of the population wouldn't even be able to walk a half marathon without suffering.
Anyway, I'd probably get on the boards at Runner's World, especially the Beginners board, where you'll probably find lots of others like you and can ask for advice.
You'll probably want a book or two, and might at some point once ready want to look into a training program or two when you want to go after a marathon. There are some places like Team in Training where you charity fund raise in exchange for good training, and there are usually local running groups or clubs that will help with marathon training programs and group runs, perhaps for a relatively small fee, if you'd rather not fund raise.
But I'd keep in mind that Boston in particular requires qualifying and that can be darn tough to do, and there are lots of other stages to go through first if you ever do want to try to qualify.I need some advice on running the boston marathon?

You're less likely to cramp up, pass out from heat exhaustion, and you won't experience that nasty feeling to puke everywhere after a long run. I personally prefer Smart Water for these kinds of things because there are electrolytes in it, and other bottled water doesn't have that. Make sure that your health is good before you run. Test your blood sugar accordingly. It's great that you're working out 3x a week, keep that up, but also challenge yourself everyday. If you ran one mile on Monday, try running a mile and a quarter on Wednesday, or set a goal for yourself to progress in increments. Also another important thing is stretching before and after workout, believe it or not. It reduces the risk of injury to your muscles and reduces the risk of tears, kinks, etc.

I am on daily meds and my pills used to get stuck to my throat. My MD said that I should take my pills with food. So I thoroughly chew some food and then pop the pill and swallow. The hardest part was not swallowing the food before I took the pill.Does anyone have advice for a person who has a hard time taking pills?
try inserting it in a banana.. worked for my brother when he was a kid..
u can buy pill cutters at a medical supply store. that should make it easier.

For me, the hard part of taking pills is trying not to taste it. I put the water or whatever I am drinking with them in my mouth first, then tip my head back, drop the pills in and swallow. Then the pills never touch my tongue so I dont gag because I dont taste them!! Hope it helps!!
why do you have troubles taking pills? it is so easy, if you don't like the flavor try pills with enteric cap or put the watter in your mouth before the pill, if you cant swallow it crash your pills and put the powder into some flavored beverage. good luck

Ask the pharmcist if there is a liquid version, or if the pills can be crushed. If if it's extended release or time release they can't. But there are others you can't crush also.
You should have an esophageal stricture ruled out as well.

people in nursing homes get their pills crushed upand put in apple sauce, pudding ect, it helps them take it better.

I could tell you LOADS but would probably bore you to tears and run out of room - I've been an instructor in Warwickshire since 2006, i trained with BSM who were quite expensive, but extremely good trainers - but i think to be honest - it depends on WHO is training you not which company they work for!!
Stayed with BSM for a few months but was far to expensive paying the ridicuous franchise fee, so hired a dual control car for a year http://www.goinstruct.co.uk - kept my fingers crossed, set up a website http://www.davejonesdriving.co.uk and never looked back! last month my hire car ran out, but instead of hiring again, i bought one - very scary but so far so good :)

Bored of my job but scared to do anything different, advice please?
I am really bored of my day job. I have transferable skills I have changed organisations many times, but basically I do the same thing in each new organisation which is what I am specialised in. Of course being specialised means more money - but its so boring! Doing something new will be out of my comfort zone and mean on a salary scale I start at the bottom.Bored of my job but scared to do anything different, advice please?

Because of the current economic climate, redundancies are at an all time high and so is unemployment. So at the moment its best to appreciate that you are employed. In addition a common problem in the workplace is bullying and if someone is not being bullied then that is a gem of a place to work. I would advise, in the times that your not working to attend some part time training that is vocational, whether it be boosting your ICT skills or communication skills. Or you could do some voluntary work, you will meet new people, have fun and learn new skills and it would look fabulous on your CV. At the moment there are alot of bankruptcies and shops going into administration, I would say for the next year at the very least stick it out.

i would be scared to use such a compound unless i could clean the tooth before. imagine trapping food particles by the paste.

It was like a sort of sticky cloth and that was what they used.
I hated dentists and did everything I could to avoid visiting one so I actually tried it out a few times when I had toothache and it seemed to work-the dentist wasn't too impressed when I was eventually forced to visit him though.
I have used Dentek Temparin. It does not last very long, and will either fall out or melt within a week or two. However, it does say it is temporary and so it does not infringe the trade descriptions act.
Basically, the market is cornered by dentists. You cannot buy your own filling material and so therefore you can only pull your own teeth out completely or use chewing gum.
My advice if you are really desperate, is to go to a university dental college and let some students practice on your teeth for free. It takes a bit longer than getting an experienced dentist to fill your teeth. However, the filling is independently inspected by the trainee's tutor and so you can be sure that it is done properly.
I have almost fainted in a dentist chair before when the drill hit a nerve. This was after three injections of novocaine!

I'm amazed once again however that anyone with a comp doesn't first try WWW general browser search using keyords,,,IE FENG SHUI in this case,,,,HUNDREDS of links will come up.

- but if you are short on the cash, you can try to renew the chi in the premises by tearing down the old (main) door, and replace it with a new one... it should be new, and get a specific degree (can be recommended by an fengshui auditor) to optimize your fortune... or do ittrial and error, do the new door, wait for 3 months, if something bad happens, tilt it, then wait again.
- easy cash for 2006 put a pail of clean water (renew the water daily) at the northwest most of the store/ house; good until november 2006.
- the key to money is in the location of the stove, and where it faces... it is based on your birthdate, and different for all people.
you may have better luck finding the origin of fung shuei to better understand it first; then a local library may have what you need

Can anyone give me expert advice on going to the grand canyon?
My husband And I are planning on going next weekend, we live in casa grande AZ and have never been to the grand canyon.
What part should we go to?
Where can you hike down just a bit into the canyon?
What will we need to bring?
Are there fee's?
Are there nice hotels around to stay at?
Where is the lookout that you can walk out over the canyon?

The Grand Canyon is a great place and this time of year is one of the best times to visit (nice temps and fewer crowds than during the summer).
The nearest part of the canyon and the place that most people go is Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim of the National Park north of Flagstaff. This has the most lodges, overlooks and attractions. From Phoenix it is about a 3.5 to 4 hour drive. There is a $25 per car fee for entering the park (good for a week).
For lodging, there are six major lodges inside the park and another half-dozen just outside the park gates at Tusayan. The most famous (and most expensive) of the park lodges is the historic 1905 El Tovar Lodge. If you are not into history and looking for something a bit cheaper, than Maswik lodge is a good combination of price, location and features. All the park lodges are ran by Xanterra and you can make reservations online (make them as soon as possible).
For things to do... check out the various overlooks - each has a somewhat different view and perspective. The ones to the east (Lipan, Grandview, Desert View) are very nice and often less crowded. There is also a nice free shuttle that runs from the lodges out to Hermits Rest and back (with stops at overlooks along the way), but much of it is currently closed as they redo the road. Also be sure to check out the many interesting historic buildings including El Tovar Lodge, the 1905 Hopi House Curio Shop (made to look like a pueblo) and Kolb Photo Studios (which often has free art exhibits). There is a nice little geology museum at Yavapai Point and a small archaeology museum (and prehistoric site) at Tusayan Ruin (near Grandview).
There are many hiking trails off the South Rim and you can do short day hikes on any of them (you don't have to go all the way to the bottom). Doing the quick 1.4 miles down the South Kaibab trail to Cedar Ridge is my favorite because of the excellent sweeping views, but the upper parts of Bright Angel trail and Hermit Trail are also good day hikes. Wear comfortable shoes and take plenty of water.
Remember to that the canyon is at elevation of 7,000 feet and so will already be getting cooler during the day and cold at night. Dress appropriately.
The lookout that you are thinking about is probably the glass Skywalk. This is not actually in the National Park, but rather a money-making tourist attraction on the Hualapai Indian Reservation near Lake Mead (about half-way between Kingman and Las Vegas). It is much further to get to and - in my opinion - not worth the hassle or expense (about $80 per person for the minimal tour package that includes the SkyWalk).
As a person that grew up in Flagstaff and still visits and hikes in the canyon a lot, I get quite a few questions from first time visitors there (see some of my other YA answers). Go to the south rim. There are trails on the south rim you can hike. You need to bring water and food. It costs $25 per car to get into the park. There is a small town called Tusayan that has a couple of rooms. The place that you are looking for is called Sky walk not sure where it is but they can help you out at the gate.
The Grand Canyon hiking a little ways down is a waste it's all or nothing.
Stay at the top. On the drive there visit the montezuma indian ruins then sedona - meteor crater, indian ruins, the trading post at Cameron then the Grand Canyon -

Well this is the perfect time of yr to visit there. its $25 to get into the park, and good for like a week or 2. The south rim I take it you are going to. The north rim is prettier, but like about 6 more hrs to drive. There are plenty of overlooks to stop at as you travel towards the east after you enter the park. All of the viewpoints to the west beyond the village and lodges are only accessable by shuttle, which isn't too bad. there are a few trails to wander down into the canyon, but don't go too far, its harder than it looks to hike back up out and its easy to go too far. All the trails are safe and all. I'd say the South Kaibab trail is the prettiest, and there are fewer people. NO water on that trail though. Bring plenty, and a couple snacks too. Our favorite overlook is the one way to the east, where there is a tower and a gift shop and a restarant. If you can time it right, its the best one to be at for sunset.
as far as lodging, theres a few hotels outside the park. Forgat the name of the village outside the park, an indian name. Call some of the lodges inside the park though, alot of times there are cancelations and you can get a room last minute, especially this time of yr. If ya stay outside the park, theres a cool IMAX movie you can watch, its kinda worth the money if ya got some time to kill one evening. That lookout that you can walk out over the canyon is quite a few miles to drive to the west, never been there, but its quite pricey I hear. In Peach Springs , forgot the name of that glass walkway.
