I was wondering whether it's a good idea to have reverse parking sensors fitted to a car by the place I purchase the sensor from..any good or bad experiences?Advice on installing reverse parking sensors on car?
I recently installed a system in a SUV for a customer. It consists of a tiny camera built in to the license plate frame and a small display that mounts to a convenient spot on the dash.It is wired to work only when the reverse lights are on.For the $90 it cost and simple installation it is a very useful safety feature.Advice on installing reverse parking sensors on car?

  • Advice for protecting a computer from malware?

After losing a computer to damage caused by viruses and malware, I can't stop worrying about the security of my other PCs. I recently set up a brand new machine and I would really appreciate some advice on what firewall to install and what antivirus to use. I'd also like to know if it's safe to use a firewall while running an anti-virus or anti-malware program at the same time.

If you were using a new computer, what would you do to protect it?Advice for protecting a computer from malware?
Get Hicks Defender, it's a free anti-spyware program from Hicks Tools. I used it to get rid of some nasty stuff.Advice for protecting a computer from malware?
Don't download anything yet until you get the most certified antivirus and firewall. Try to seek advice on this site's newsletter to know methods on how to protect your computer from computer viruses and what is the most recommended brands of antivirus programs that you can use to protect your computer and how to administrate network of computer security. http://systemsecurityinstitute.org/
First set up a basic 'running' anti virus like Avira free - Then D/load Malwarebytes and SUPERantispyware and update every week - These 3 programs are the basis for detecting and removal of 99% of all known infections -

Scan at least once a week with the last 2 removers and set your Avira to do a daily scan (mine is midday every day) - If you think any infections have slipped past your 'running' anti virus then run a quick scan with SUPERantispyware -

If you used these on the last system you would not have needed to junk it - Also set M/soft updates to D/load as they are important to your system -
um you can download Antivirus 2009 which gives total protection and nothing to worry about
If you want a virus scanner, go for something reputable. Avast, AVG and Norton are all reputable. Some cost, some are free.

Using a firewall with antivirus software is usually fine. In general, you don't want more than one of each or they may conflict with each other. One antivirus program, one firewall and one anti-malware program.

The most effective way of making your computer more secure is through something I like to call security through minority. About 88% of all computers run Windows. This means if you were to make a virus, you would make it for Windows as it would affect the most number of people (making a virus that infects more than one operating system is very difficult, sometimes impossible). As a result of Window's market share, over 99% of all viruses target Windows machines. You are several hundred times less likely to get a virus running a non-Windows machine. Since you already have the machines, you could install Linux on them, however, Linux is not as user friendly as the geeks who use it would like to think, and almost all software you have for Windows can't be run on Linux, so there's quite a few downsides.

What I suggest to you is this: Stop using Internet Explorer. Internet viruses are downloaded to your computer through exploits in the browser, which means it can usually only target one browser. Internet Explorer has around 80% share of the market, so it is the most likely to give you a virus, as that's what virus makers will target to affect the most users. It's the whole security through minority situation again.

    Alternative browsers are

    Safari http://www.apple.com/safari/

    Chrome http://www.google.com/chrome

    Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

    Opera http://opera.com

Opera is what I use, but it's not for everyone. Don't forget to get the antivirus/malware/firewall as well. All four are as important as each other.

Also be aware that older operating systems are more vulnerable. If you get offered the choice to have Windows XP instead of Vista, don't take it. The OS is 7 years old, as well as it's security system. Vista is the most recent, but Windows 7 is being released in October. As time goes on, the security system gets better (because as time goes on, hackers get better). Also make sure your system updates are up to date, via Windows Update.

Advice for beginner learning the stock market?

I am a recent college graduate, trying to learn a little bit about investing and the stock market.

Any advice on books/articles to or forums for beginners about the stock market?Advice for beginner learning the stock market?
That depends on whether you want to be a trader (short-term positions, watching the market a lot) or an investor. The books liste on the websitr are all about trading. Trading can be profitable, but takes a lot of discipline.

If you want to be an investor, start with economics. Economics foresaw this bust while the DOW was still on the way to 14,000. Economics moves the market, and the market moves the stocks. When the market crashes, good stocks get taken down with the bad.Advice for beginner learning the stock market?
Good to know that you are looking at investing at a early age!

Start by reading this a book called ';The Intelligent Investor';. Next open a eTrade or any only trading account to get some hand-ons experience.

For a start, look at those penny stocks, you can definitely start investing now. No money, go get a job. The key is to pump the money into your stocks.

Once you get more experience, you will leverage and balance your entire investment and saving portfolio.

I founded an organization, now i need advice?

I started a non-profit organization that deals with humanitarian aid in Africa. I would like to make a website that not only shows the objectives of the organization but also things like the tactics and etc. I need to do this so we can get funding/recognition. Please can anyone tell me what i need to include in the website or show me some outline on how to present the organization-organizations goals/tactics- to outsiders?

    Thank you in advance..

:)I founded an organization, now i need advice?
Take a look at what other non-profit orgs have on their websites. ;)

While a lot of non-profits don't have money to spend on professional help for their websites (and quite often, it shows...!), you may see some patterns as to what information is typically shown on most sites, and you may even see some well-written info that you can use as inspiration. You may also find some sections you wouldn't have thought of but may be very applicable to you.

It's also a great opportunity to be a critic of their sites, and analyse what does and doesn't work for you, as an outsider reading their site. How intuitive is the site structure / navigation? Does the information explain what they do adequately? And does the site actually tell you where they are located? That's one of the big things I find lacking in a lot of sites - they assume everyone knows where they are.

Whatever you do though, don't plagiarise any info. Use it as a base, but don't use any of it word for word.I founded an organization, now i need advice?
Quick rule of thumb for yourself and the onganization; communicate who, what, when, where, why, and how the organization does (what) things.
Hmmm this sounds funny to me because you practically answered your own question of what you need to present to the public.

Nobody just founds an org. without funding first. Even if your non profit which requires some schooling or the help of a lawyer. If you really have gotten that far it means you have a business plan already drawn out to attract support and gain financial backing.

If you really need this type of advice you have jumped in over your head. I urge you to get some schooling or a lawyers help. Good luck to you.
well you can put your organisation on www.onlinevolunteering.org

this website works with the UN and specialist for someone also who started an organisation for humanitarian aid. They also can advise you in thise topics.Me myself im in that organisation and a member of UN .So good luck and all the best for you :)

I want to be a pharmaceutical chemist and i need some advice; what should I major in?

There are a lot of choices for example: chemistry and pharmacy? or chemistry and medicine? some schools even have a pharmaceutical chemistry major. are those the crappy schools?I want to be a pharmaceutical chemist and i need some advice; what should I major in?
You should use the resources of your guidance office, assuming you are in high school. Find out the curriculum for the schools that have a pharmaceutical chemistry major. Get your guidance offices opinion on the schools. I'm sure that there is a web=page somewhere that has opinions on schools; track it down. I would guess that a chemistry and pharmaacy major also includes courses in medicine, and if not, you can take such couses as electives.

Good luck in your pursuits.I want to be a pharmaceutical chemist and i need some advice; what should I major in?
Major in chemistry. If pharmaceutical chem is offered, take that.
You will need chemistry, pharmaceutical and statistic knowledge.

What is your best advice to surviving freshman year at high school?

My friend and I are going to DIE please hlepWhat is your best advice to surviving freshman year at high school?
Just be yourself, and don't let anyone get you down. I was made fun of a ton my freshman year. About half way through the year, I became friends with a couple of ';popular'; (once you are out of high school, you will realize this never meant anything) seniors, and that really helped. Good luck, you can get through it, just remember, the real world, after high school, is totally different. What is your best advice to surviving freshman year at high school?
No one likes the loud mouth freshmen who think they are cool. If you were popular in middle school, it is more likely that you won't be once you get to high school, unless all your 8th grade class is the whole freshmen class. Don't be a hard *** or a loud mouth no one likes those. Stay out of trouble, don't do stupid stuff to ';fit in.'; Act mature.

  • Where can I find advice on changing my daughter's adult diapers?

She's 14 and was in an accident and is paralyzed from the neck down, she had to spend a lot of time in the hospital but now I have her home with me. She had a type of catheter in before but it gave her a bad infection so it was taken out. With the diapers I'm still worried about her getting infections, rashes, bed sores, etc...I'm not always sure how often to change her and a lot of the time she doesn't realize when she's wet.

Does anyone who has any experience have any advice?Where can I find advice on changing my daughter's adult diapers?
Grr they should have shown you how to do this at the hospital, Open the fresh diaper completely

Roll your daughter up on one side, undo the tab and pull the back of the diaper down, clean her and remove the diaper, by pulling it down from between her legs, after you make sure she doesn't need anymore cleaning, place the back end of the diaper against your daughter's behind, tucking it underneath her, try to make sure there are no wrinkles, roll her onto her back then pull the diaper up between her legs and fasten, this will take practice, but you will get used to it,

There is a risk of UTI with diapers as well, keep her as dry as possible but make sure you let her bottom half get plenty of air, change her position every 2 hours to help avoid bed sores and when you change her position, massage the area that she has been laying on to bring back circulation, good skin care is of the utmost importance, get the best skin lotion you can by and apply it when you change positions, you want to do this with every pressure point, coccix, elbows, heels, spine, hips etc. I pray you have some help, home health aid or something this is a tremendous job all by yourself,

I am so sorry this happened to you, please feel free to email me anytime. U wish you and your daughter the best, ADD: make sure there is plenty of protein in her diet as well, this will help stave of bed sores.Where can I find advice on changing my daughter's adult diapers?
hi i am sorry about the accident .i worked in a nursing home and dealt with the diaper changing you should change her every two hrs at the least and please make sure you turn her from side to side please try to keep her off her bottom.and please always remember what they call flip and sip when you( flip) turn her give her a drink.i know you know how to change her but in case wipe front to back .hopefully i was able to be of some help and god bless you and her

Yes, definitely include it in your CV.

And don't worry about your English - it's better than half of the so-called English speakers who post on the site.

No need to apologise for your English, there are many native english speakers who cannot compose a question as well as you have.

Yes you can use the article in your resume as it will give your future employer an insight into your tenacity and ability to give 100%.

    Good Luck for the future
Can't help you, but would love the points!
You could list the fact that you were selected as a hero for the school in the section of your resume that you would put your extracurricular activities like club memberships and academic club memberships.

You could list it as such:

Chosen as the Hero for the University during (Month) (Year)

Then you could explain this if asked during your interview. This would be a good point to really talk good about yourself.

I want to start a conversation with this girl on the train, but she is always listening to her iPod. Advice?

I always ride in the same car on the train with her and I really want to ask her out for a drink or coffee. I figured that if she's always listening to music, it's a girls way of telling guys to leave her alone. We make very brief eye contact sometimes, she seems very shy (or not interested). She didn't have her headphones on this morning but I didn't approach her. I'm not sure what to do.I want to start a conversation with this girl on the train, but she is always listening to her iPod. Advice?
Be funny. Make up some hand cards with different sayings on them. Never say a word only use your cards, she will immediately crack up.

    ';Hi'; ';You are cute.'; ';Single?'; ';Boyfriend?';

    ';Girlfriend?'; ';Aries?'; ';Scorpio?';

    ';I've seen you here before.'; ';Do you talk?';

    ';Do you eat?'; ';Do you date?'; ';Drink coffee?';

    ';Can we do this again?'; ';I've enjoyed talking to you.'; ';May I talk to you again?'; ';You look fantastic.'; ';I can speak.'; ';Just not to you.';

';Not today anyway.'; These are all questions to bring humor to her. She will nod yes or no to your questions. You will make her day.

Have fun.I want to start a conversation with this girl on the train, but she is always listening to her iPod. Advice?
Oye, you didn't approach her when she wasn't wearing her headphones? Why not? Maybe she saw you were looking at her and didn't wear the headphones so you could talk to her. :\

The only thing you can do now is the next time she looks at you smile and then point to her headphones if she's wearing them. That way she would know you wanted to talk to her. Make a motion like you want her to take them out of her ears.

It seems like she's shy and maybe doesn't approach guys herself but may be open to you talking with her. Good luck. I think next time too if she's not wearing them, just go over to her and introduce yourself to her say something like. Hi, I've seen you on this train before and just wanted to come over and introduce myself to you. Then you could ask her what kind of music is she listening to on her iPod. Good luck, I hope it works. :D
Next time when you have eye contacted with her, just give a friendly smile, if she smile back, means she does not avoid you; after smile couple times, say something such as hi good morning, then say more such as, how are you today? Where you work? All these have to do step by step if you don't want either you or her to be embarrassed, I think you might have a chance to ask her out for a drink before Easter.
why didn't you. well next time just politely tap her on the arm something compliment her. and say you know we always see each other and never talk. make small talk. and maby you'll get that date.introduce your self get to know each other good luck.
just tap her shoulder or next time she has the headphones out, just introduce yourself. she probably just likes music or thinks its something to do since she's gotta sit on a train.
Just approach her, you wont know until you ask. I listen to my phone while on the train everyday but guys still get my attention by talking 2 me %26amp;%26amp; getting eye contact.
take your ipod or somethin and and sit nxt to her and talk about music. its sum she obviously likes. lol and a great convo starter lol
Sit next to her, and show her what you're listening to also.
She's most likely already have a boyfriend. I don't think you should try anything, sorry. :(
ask her out what can it hurt if she tells you no ride in a different car

What are good tips/advice about being on your period?

good brands? i can answer that... :)

pads: always [ultra thin, overnight, maxi], kotex [thin]

tampons: playtex [sport, gentle glide], tampax [pearl]

liners: kotex, always [dri-liners], stayfree [thin]

if you stay with always, playtex, kotex, and tampax, you're good. those are the best brands, and they'll never fail you. my personal favorites are playtex gentle glide and tampax pearl. they're easy to get in, and comfortable too. to avoid leakage, wear pads with wings, and make sure they're snugly in your underwear.

good luck! :)What are good tips/advice about being on your period?
always keep at least 2 more tampons/pads than you think you will need in your purse. if you wear a pad, or have a lot of dry blood on your underwear, avoid water rides or something that could get you wet. work out or at least take a walk and if you have any dried blood, change them before you do-- the sewt will re-wet the blood and cause a stain. eat bannanas, and drink lots of water. make sure you tuck the tampon string into your bikini. put an old towell over your sheet if you have a heavy period at night. remember, its not a big deal, just a part of life. What are good tips/advice about being on your period?
Just get a hot water bottle and hug it, try to sleep most of the day to avoid pains, but if u at skool then just try to act normal but if u have stomach ache then just try not to move about too much and take a tablet or something. Hope i helped. x
Advice: Don't show people. Tips: Stop being a woman and your problems are all solved
Use those heating patches, I think they are called Thermacare.
try not to kill people. its a challenge but we manage =D
    put on comfy clothes

    wear sweaters

    have ur lower abdomen warm

    eat warm food.

    stay home and relax =]

Can anybody who's had a lip piercing before give me some advice on angel bites?

How long is the healing time?

Will speech/eating be affected? If so, how?

Is it possible to get clear retainers for them?

Would warm salt water gargles and wiping the outside with warm salt water be adequate for aftercare?

Is it possible to play with them by chewing them (Not that I want to!)

Anything else I need to know? Can anybody who's had a lip piercing before give me some advice on angel bites?
my lip healed in 4 weeks. i used a mouth wash called tech 2000. that stuff worked great (and it doesnt taste bad).

it will be a little akward the first few days with eating. the swelling factor and the fact that your not used to having the metal in your mouth.

clear retainers is always a possibility. they really dont hide the piercings that well thought. they just dont stick out as much or catch the eye. also you cant put them in until the piercing is at least a couple weeks old. depending on how the healing is going. all bodies heal differently.

sea salt is always a good way to clean your piercing. i suggest H2ocean. u can use it on the inside of ur mouth too.

as for playing with them. trust me once theyre there its almost impossible not to play with them.

anyway angel bites are a pretty sweet piercings. i would say go for the piercing! i loveee my lip piercing and it was the easiest and least painful piercing i have/had gotten.

Are the people who work at cosmetics stores good to get makeup advice from?

I was wondering if I when I am at a store to buy makeup if I should get suggestions from the people working there, are they good or bad at helping? What kinds of things should I tell them and how can I get the best help (stores, books, anything.)Are the people who work at cosmetics stores good to get makeup advice from?
They are very good at helping but if you think what they want you to get isn't the best for you, don't get it! but other than that definetly ask people working there for help.

Tell them you need help finding whatever it is you are looking for and they can ask questions to get the absolute right product.

places to get the best help:

sephora.com (you can email a consultant or look around and find tips.)

covergirl.com (you can chat with a live consultant)

maccosmetics.com (again you can chat with consultants or email one)

allure.com has how to guides and forums that you can post question

Department stores, sephora, or ulta are good places

    The following books:

Bobbi Brown (there are many that all work)

Beauty Buyble (this one mostly gives information on the products but helps in application too)

The make-up book (has pictures to help with application

5-minute face (This one has great tips on application and what kind of products to get, but at the end gives you a product shopping guide)

Confessions of a beauty editor (written by the editor of allure it is really helpful)

Also, if you need any more help feel free to email me!Are the people who work at cosmetics stores good to get makeup advice from?
That's like asking if a guy in a lumber yard if he knows anything about a 2X4. The women hired to sell cosmetics had better know something about what they are selling. Do you think they would hire a guy out of plumbing to sell make-up just because he sold the s*** out of plumbing fixtures.
If the store is exclusively a make-up store then the beautician there should be able to help you with what you need, if not then they probably can't help.
If you go into a professional cosmetic store like MAC or Sephora, definitely ask someone. They can make great reccommendations and show you how to properly apply things. Makeup counters at the mall are great too but be very specific about what you want. All of these people work on commission so while they're very helpful they can sometimes be pushy about expensive products. Write down what kinds of products, colors, shades, etc, you're looking for and bring it with you.
    sephora...

you can always go to macy's and find one of the makeup counters..they'll be happy to help you..

  • Is there any makeup advice out there on how to make a single eyelid look double?

i used to have both single eyelids and then a couple years ago, i woke up to find one double and the other still single. does anyone have some makeup tips to possibly make the single look double? im asian so the single eyelid looks to me especially small compared to the double.

and for those who never heard of a single eyelid, its the same terminology as just the crease on the eye, not literally having one eyelid.

thanks for any help!Is there any makeup advice out there on how to make a single eyelid look double?
u could fake a crease with eye shadow but that looks REALLY bad. there's a glue you can buy that gives you a crease. but just so you know, most people arent gonna stare at you for long enough to notice anything...Is there any makeup advice out there on how to make a single eyelid look double?
u can brush a natural color of eyeshadow, such as brown, into the crease of your eye. it shoult define the eylid. i also heard there is special tape to make asian eyes have a double eye lid.

    no worries m8

i've had the flesh people tear into me stomach(had bad stuff there) the people who do the cuttin are very proffesional and you will be kicking(well, after 3 weeks you will) yourself for not doing this sooner. When you first go in, just be honest with your nurse, tell them that your REALLY nervous, she will give you some medication that will take the edge off(usually valium of some form)

seriously, i was cut open just right below my chest all the way to my belly button, i couldn't move for like 2 weeks but after 6 weeks i was right as rain. now only thing on my stomach(besides the mountain of body hair, Wooly FTW) are the knife wounds and this big honking scar.
    calm down!!

    in my opinion;

the surgury is gonna bee sooo WORTH IT! your gona enter with diffuculty in breathing and leave with perfect breathing ;D

dont be afraid of the green masks, they will probably save uu ! and hay, look at the bright side; you wont feel a thing!!

although its normal to freak about, but once you leave the operation room you will think ' why was a freaking out?'

i know this cuz my sister had a surgury before. she was freaking out, but after the surgery she felt fine and happy and she didnt regret having it. she wished if she had had it at an earlier time in her life.

gd luck and tc and be calm

I just took my sis in law last wed...the actually surgery took all of 15 min! She was fine after, tired that was all. No pain no nothing. :-) It will be fine and let me tell you she felt 100% better in 24 hours, meaning she wasn't so nasal etc. The dr talked to me and told me 30-45 min recovery in the post op room then 30 min recovery in the nurse station area...drinking ginger ale and eating jello. By friday she did have a small ongoing headache, but that was it. You will be fine!!! This is such a minor surgery! I know anytime anesthesia is involved people get nervous. Just keep positive and ask as many questions as you want! Don't post-phone though, you are only causing yourself stress. Best of luck!!
just get some, alot of rest everything will go great. and it will help you out in the long run, you need this. it will help you. good luck! =]

I will be taking him to the aspca to get info on shots vet and other such i just cant make it for two days. Is milk and or tuna bad in that short term?I just picked up a stray kitten and fed him milk because he seemed to be starving, Advice?
If this is a young kitten under 4 weeks, regular milk can kill him so stop. No cat food? Feed plain meat like chicken ort turkey or ham or again if this kitten is too young, get kmr from walmart or a supermarket to feed

Aspca kills cats so think about that before you go thereI just picked up a stray kitten and fed him milk because he seemed to be starving, Advice?
Go to walmart or where ever get kitten milk, and if you need a dropper they are right next to the kitten milk. The little bottle usually dont wirk a dropper is better it may be messy but it may save his life. Also if he is dirty try and clean him as gentle as possible with a damp warm rag. make sure you keep him in a towel til he is dry. and tuna may be bad id just get some normal soft cat food, not the chunky kind if he is still really little they also have some moist ';dry'; kitten food. But if your ony able to use things at home then just warm a little milk and try that putting on a tiny plate instead of a bowl may be easier for that kitten. discard if not drank within 30 minutes and use fresh again. If you absolutely have to use tuna try not to use tuna in oil and if you can mush it up in a blender. hope this helps.
Regular milk especially for small small kittens is bad because they can starve to death on cow milk you need to buy a liquid or powdered milk that is special made for kittens. make sure there are no flees on it. If they are really small they can become anemic over night and die. So make sure to give it a good look over. Also small kittens should be fed every two to three hours (about as two serenges full.
Contrary to popular belief, cats are lactose intolerant, so the milk will undoubtedly give the kitten diarrhea, which in turn can lead to a whole lot of problems, namely severe dehydration, which can kill.

If you want to feed it tuna, keep the water in, mash it all up with a fork so it is sort of like a thick tuna shake....that is your best bet for now. Good luck!
    Make sure you get him:

Fresh Water [milk may give him the runs]

    dry kitten show

small cans of wet kitten chow.

Then take him to the vet, and the vet will help you with the more complicated things. (shots, flea meds, neutering, etc)

Good luck with your new bundle of joy! And g-d bless you for adopting a stray.
give him lots of sleep ASAP and dry cat food. Take him to the vet to check on him and put up ';FOUND'; signs around ur neighborhood. Maybe someone is looking for it right now, and u can also check if it has any medic needs. I foudn a stray dog last week, and we found his owner just 5 or 4 days after. You gotta let the ppl know that you found the kitten.
Sounds to me like you need to hit up a dollar store.. Plus where is he gonna poo!

If you spend like five bucks or less if hit it lucky.. you can get a cheap box or bag of food.. litter box and litter. Anything left over if you are planning on turning him in.. consider it a donation and turn it over with the kitty??
Some stores sell a special formula for young kittens or puppies. Including Fred Meyers. Depending on the age of the kitten, the formula is not needed and water is fine... but if it's just an itty bitty thing, I would suggest getting the formula.
Milk tends to give cats diarrhea, so that is not recommended. Neither is tuna. Get some kitten food from the store, canned or crunchy and feed it small portions until you get to the vet.
Get a box put some dirt in it and show it to the kitty ASAP. Shots and fixing a cat is very expensive. If the cat stays indoors the most imprtant thing to do is get it fixed. Shots can come later. . .
milk is not a good idea...I would give the cat the tuna with water...and get it a small bag of cat food.
Feed it lots and lots of captin crunch they love that.
no milk just tuna and water or cooked chicken or turkey is ok to

well some one should do something to stop the vectors(sounds like mosquitos) maybe introduce more frogs? im not really sure how you would do that safely.

make sure they all have CLEAN water[[ P%26amp;G owns the Pur company. they have a very cool product that will seperate any bacteria or dirt from water and cause it to fall to the bottum of the container.]]

try to keep conditions as sanitary as possible. especialy for young children who love to get into everything

i will pray for you! i hope this helped a little =)How to save my city and my people, please advice?
from your details, most of those viruses are carried by mosquitoes.since mosquitoes are the vector, eradicate does mosquitoes and you will solve the problem.biological control and public awareness are key factors to control the mosquito population.im from selangor, malaysia and dengue cases has been on a rise in my area, they keep fogging everytime there is a dengue case but the numbers are still on a rise.the public must be informed of the problem and how to play a part in curbing the matter..

    good luck

  • Why do people on YA get on their high-horses and throw stones when someone asks for DUI advice?

Even if the person states that they're well aware of their guilt, but they're just trying to do damage-control on their life, and they would like to soften the blow if possible. Ted Kennedy actually KILLED someone in a DUI. His nephew hit a cop car while driving drunk. Neither of them got punished and they're both lionized by the media. I think people just like to stand on the backs of others, because it makes them feel taller and self-righteous.Why do people on YA get on their high-horses and throw stones when someone asks for DUI advice?
Self righteous people are often annoying hypocrites who like to think they're always right, and pretend they never made any mistakes in their lives.

With that said, we live in a judgmental society that likes to play the blaming game. Why do people on YA get on their high-horses and throw stones when someone asks for DUI advice?
Yeah, you're probably right! I think that many people come on to this board because they're bored and just wanting to kill time rather than being deeply interested in the questions so I tend to expect a lot of opinions %26amp; knee jerk reactions.
I completely agree with you but you can't let it get to you after all they are a bunch of strangers. They've probably did things we couldn't even imagine, their just trying to make themselves feel better.

I want to rent out my existing home, any advice on where to find a good tenant?

I want to move, but with the existing market, I don't want to get crushed on the selling price. so I am interested in Renting out my first property. hoping to get some basic fundamental advice so I don't mess this up!

I want to rent out my existing home, any advice on where to find a good tenant?
Complete back ground and credit check. Let no one with anything off into your property. DO NOT LISTEN to any sob story about why they were evicted, why they do not pay their bills, etc. You will get screwed if you do.

Make sure they pay their bills and do not try to justify not paying anyone, they have a good job and have had it 2 or more years, they have never been evicted, are not sex offenders and are not felons.

Look at their car, it is a great indication of their cleanliness and do a drive by of where they live now.

Look up the phone numbers to landlords yourself, scum balls sometimes try to give themselves references. I look up the owner in the tax records and call from there, I never trust the numbers tenants give me. The same goes for employers, call the company directly and talk to the Human Resources, not anyone else there.I want to rent out my existing home, any advice on where to find a good tenant?
First precaution is to do a background check on anyone you decide to rent to. Ask for a deposit, to cover for damages, and first and last month rent. Might not be a bad idea to check with your insurance to see if you have the right amount of coverage to cover damages when they leave.
I have owned rental property for years and there is nowhere to look for good tenants. Tenants have more legal rights than you as an owner. Eviction takes months and the loss of rent hurts your bottom line. Be careful
You can probably try advertising on Craigslist first.
In Australia the best answer is to get a property manager to do this for you. They can access 'bad tenant lists' where a private landlord cannot. However this is not to say you can't do research yourself. Definitely look into their employment, previous landlords and neighbours are also a good resource. (Thats how I found out about one of my bad tenants)

Never never never let them tell you a story about hard times, wrongful evictions or extenuating circumstances - they all lie. FULL STOP. Good tenants don't have these stories to tell so that is a good sign. Don't go on their appearance - very misleading as anyone can dress it up. Car and current home are better indicators.

Another problem that crops up regularly for us is the question of pets. We always say no to them despite our property manager having a seperate contract to sign stating they will repair and pay for any damages done by the animal. Despite us always saying no we almost always find an animal in residence. ';I'm just looking after it for a friend for a couple of days/weeks'; is the excuse they all use. This is crap! Animals can, and do, cause a major amount of damage. We allowed a tenant some years ago to keep a cat. This became dogs and cats (plural) and when he left the cat urine in the carpet throughout the whole house was so bad it cost us over $2000 to replace the lot. The tenancy tribunal is geared to look after the tenant not the landlord and we couldn't get any of the amount from him because we had allowed him to have an animal so we had to wear the damages.

So check, double check and check again by yourself. Accept no numbers from them, get them yourself. No animals - or if you do allow them -put up the rent. Say if the rental is $300 per week without an animal then put it up to $320 with an animal and also get them to sign an agreement to cover the damages done by the animal. Even if it takes you a week extra of running around and ringing people and employers and past landlords it will pay off in the end. Get one good tenant and you will be set for good times. One bad one and you will never rent again.

My Maytag Gemini double oven - the top oven bottom element does not heat element measures low ohms any advice?

I believe the element is good. Does any one know how the logic work that starts the heating? Could it be a relay? My Maytag Gemini double oven - the top oven bottom element does not heat element measures low ohms any advice?
the problem is either in you element of the switch itself. if you have a multimeter you could test both items, if not, perhaps you should contact a repairmanMy Maytag Gemini double oven - the top oven bottom element does not heat element measures low ohms any advice?
any oven with low megger ohms, proves if the heating element is in order , the cable is old and needs replacement best is to replace the cable, with a new cable, or the plug may be to old, either way check the plug, which is easy to replace, or the cable with new cable, based on your explanation you seem to know the fault, if in doubt ? ask a electrician to replace the same. to be safe, good luck

Want to book a Driving Holiday in the USA, advice needed!?

Myself and my friend are planning a driving trip to America this year for a couple of weeks and would welcome any advice from anyone who has done this. Wich part, Route 66? The south? California? Is it best to pay for a package where it is all organised for you with itinerary or just to book it ourselves independantly. Obviously we would like to keep the price down as much as possible. I live in the uk. Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated. ThanksWant to book a Driving Holiday in the USA, advice needed!?
Just book a car from this side of the pond for the airport you are landing at. Dollar and Alamo are the best but a little pricier.

Then you will find plenty of good motels and eateries on route. We never plan, we just go for it and have fun....

My daughter is now 5 and a half and is still in diapers at night, any tips or advice for breaking bed wetting?

She has been potty trained since she was 2 years old. But has always needed to use a diaper at night. I have read that it is normal and they usually break of it by age 6. But Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice or tips that they have used or tried. My daughter is now 5 and a half and is still in diapers at night, any tips or advice for breaking bed wetting?
I was told by our new doctor not to worry about it. My 4 yr old son wears diapers at night for bed wetting. I was a bed wetter past the age of 15 and wore diapers to bed. I just took my son to a third doctor just last week and explained that bed wetting runs in the family and he said that himself and most other doctors do not worry about bed wetting until a child gets up to 9 to 10 yrs old (my other two doctors said age 8 to 9). He stated at my son's age (and would apply to your daughter as well since they close in age), that he recommended staying with diapers so the child sleeps through the night to get a full night sleep. Its up to the parents of course to choose to use a diaper whether it be a pull-up diaper or a regular tape tab diaper. Some parents use a mattress cover, some use alarms, but the child is awaken from sleep due to the wet sheets and pajamas or an alarm is going off and the child still wets the bed. His thoughts are children need at least 8 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep and diapers are a very good choice for bed wetters. I plan to keep using disposable diapers on him until he can stay dry for a couple weeks straight. Plus I look at it as it's only one diaper a night so its not that expensive so for now its diapers and restful nights sleep .My daughter is now 5 and a half and is still in diapers at night, any tips or advice for breaking bed wetting?
Give her a glass of water before bed and then send her to the toilet, just before you go to bed etc, 11pm wake her up gently to go to the toilet, its not mean and she will thank you in years to come, if she starts crying when you wake her read her a quick story or give her a little glass of water! x
Try not giving her any liquids to drink about an hour or 2 before going to bed.
My daugther wet the bed till she was six...the drs say its normal, just cut out drinks in the evening

  • What kind of advice can you give to someone that wants to become an accountant?

Im an accounting major and i am wondering is there any advice on how to properly pursue in this career. Im at a point in life where i have no idea what i am doing and i just want to know if i am going in the right trackWhat kind of advice can you give to someone that wants to become an accountant?
If you own a degree - or any alternative qualification - then you'll already be ahead of the crowd when it comes to searching for professions. My pal has a degree and he wasn't certain what direction to go with it, but he found some good instruction on the website in the resource box below which guided him to decide that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is plenty of guidance on the website regarding alternative professions. What kind of advice can you give to someone that wants to become an accountant?
Becoming a CPA is a great way to earn a living, so you're definitely on the right track!

First off, decide if you'd rather specialize in audit or tax. Audit is good if you eventually want to work as a Controller, VP of Finance or CFO of a company. Tax is good if you eventually want to be self employed. However, these two career tracks aren't set in stone - I was an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, but I am now self-employed doing tax and bookkeeping work for clients.

Accounting firms will try to meet the top recruits at your university. Attend these recruiting events and be prepared to ask a lot of questions to the employees representing the firms. Each firm has it's own culture, and it will be important for you to see where you'd best fit in.

And of course, keep up your grades, especially if you intend to work for one of the Big 4 firms. But even if you don't, study hard because the CPA exam is very difficult. I took a course called the Becker CPA Review which helped tremendously. I passed all 4 parts the first time I sat for the exam.
I'm a CPA, but kind of stumbled into it, so my recommendations are what I should have done. First off, you've taken the first step by majoring in accounting. You need to ace as many of your accounting courses as possible. If there is an accounting club at your school, join it and attend their meetings. A lot of times they have outside speakers, like a local CPA who you can ask career planning questions to. My state's CPA society has a special student membership, but I'm not sure what programs they have. Call up your state CPA society and ask. They will be very happy to talk with you. Until recently, there was a severe staffing problems at CPA firms and a lot of promotion of the profession to college students. I would try to get an internship at a local CPA firm before you graduate so that you can get some idea of what public accounting is like. When your college has recruiting fairs, see if any CPA firms are present and not busy so you can talk to them as well. The best path to a career in accounting is via a few years experience in one of the big 4 firms, but they can afford to be picky about applicants, so apply at the regional firms as well. Once you get into a firm, join the audit staff. You will get broad exposure to a lot of different businesses and industries. Once you've spent a few years in audit, you'll have enough experience with a number of accounting systems that you can make the transition to a corporate job. At that point, it will depend upon your abilities. My first accounting job was as a jr. accountant doing account reconciliations and I'm now director of finance. It's a great profession. Good luck!

Does anyone have advice on how to get my dog to stop digging?

I need help to get my shepherd to stop digging. I am getting to the end of my rope. He is a great dog otherwise but he is digging in my lawn and in my flower beds. I put a lot of effort in looking after my yard and he is not going to wreck it. We live on an acreage and he gets attention but I don't know what his problem is. I have had a few dogs and even another shepherd but never one that dug, well in my yard anyway. I want to put gravel or cement in the dog run but can't decide what is better any ideas. I hope somebody has went through the same thing and has a cure because he is driving me nuts. Desperate for help before he destroys everything! ThanksDoes anyone have advice on how to get my dog to stop digging?
I have Bloodhounds. Part of my yard looks like a missle test site. Can you confine him to one area and let him dig to his heart's content? Don't leave him outside all day. Some dogs get bored and this is entertainment.Does anyone have advice on how to get my dog to stop digging?
Take your dog's feces and put it in the holes he has dug, and cover them up - it works!
To Get You're Dog To Stop Digging It Is Best To Tell Him ';No'; Every Time You See Him To Start Digging And Then You Have To Destract Him With A Toy And Bring Out The Ball Or Chew Toy Or Even A Tug O' War Rope.
You shouldn't keep your dog out too long. Just take your dog out for a few minutes. Keep you dog on a leash so it won't go in a spot and dig a hole.
I would find out why he is digging. If he is digging to get cool then offer him something else to cool him down. If it's because he is bored then offer him something else to do. I would think the spicy powder would help. I put tabasco sause on my dinner plate over night to keep my dog off the table. Worked like a charm. Stuff as potent as that the dogs can smell and they will avoid. I am not sure if the buring pooh will work since some dogs eat it. Good luck.
Try putting Black Pepper on the ground. Or try ground Hot Peppers, something spicy. Just sprinkle it on the ground and he should stop digging. He'll just start sneezing! LOL!
in the spots where he digs put Cheyenne pepper (i think that's what it's called) in before you cover the hole and he won't dig there anymore.

    1) The Denning Instinct: Evolution has provided dogs with an instinct to dwell in a protected area. If such shelter is not provided, the dog will dig to obtain it.

    2) Temperature Control: In extreme environments, dogs may use earthen dens to control body temperature. Some dogs dig dens to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Providing a protected, warm area in the winter and plenty of liquids, shade and occasional sprays with water in the summer can help eliminate this need to dig.

    3) Hunting: Some dogs, such as terriers, are relentless diggers. Such breeds have evolved to use digging as an essential part of their hunting repertoire. Underground there are

countless bugs, dead animals, old trash pits and live game.

    4) Self Care: Occasionally digging will be an instinctive expression of self-care, such as stashing bones or surplus food. This behavior keeps the dogs' living areas clean and prevents interference from scavengers.

    5) Exploration and Territoriality: Dogs often dig because of their instinct to explore. There is a high survival value associated with being intimately familiar with the territory. Thus, dogs may dig to locate potentially dangerous or useful items. This usually is a temporary phenomenon; however, owners should try to avoid ground disturbances because they may elicit additional investigations.

    6) Mimicry: The technical term for this is ';allelomimetic behavior.'; Dogs often will imitate other animals, as well as people.

    7) Reproductive Behavior: Walker explains that females in the wild will dig series of dens. This nesting behavior is quite common, and providing a proper whelping box typically will address this sort of digging. Dogs also may dig to escape from the yard and attempt mating. Neutering, of course, provides a permanent solution for this digging.

    8) Aggressiveness and Frustration: Digging, especially at a fence or gate, usually is associated with frustration. Being pack animals, dogs want to join others (human or canine) and feel stressed by their isolation and confinement. Male dogs also may display aggression in response to human teasing or canine challenges. Neutering may help reduce this intermale aggression in some cases. Restricting the dog's mobility in order to avoid close proximity to gates or fences also may be helpful, as would persuading your neighbors to stop their children or dogs from teasing your dog.

    9) Social Interaction Needs: Some dogs require a home range much larger than a fenced-in yard can provide, and they may attempt to escape simply to increase social contact. Walks, a canine companion and a fence that allows a greater range of visibility may help. Smaller breeds, spayed females and older dogs may be more appropriate for limited ranges, and neutering may be considered for males that wander continually.

    10) Attention-Seeking Behavior: Digging, as a random exploratory behavior, may become an entrenched habit if a dog is ';rewarded'; with considerable negative attention because of its digging. Ignoring the digging while giving positive attention for an incompatible desirable behavior generally is the best approach. Barrier techniques also might be used in conjunction with this form of contingency management. Many barrier approaches exist, such as filling the hole with water, rocks, the dog's own feces, thorny branches, repellents, fencing, chicken wire or cactus plants.
I actually just saw this on HGTV. The best way to get your dog to stop digging or destroying plants is to spray the areas with pepper spray. Not the kind you would mace someone with, but an actual kind you can get from the Plant Store. It's mixed with water, doesn't kill plants, and will keep dog and cats away from your plants. Another way to get them to stop digging is to use the wooden mulch chunks around the plants. The wooden mulch is uncomfortable for them to dig at, so they tend to leave it alone, and it still allows your plants to grow.
Try like tellin it too stop if that doesnt work then spank him or hit or scream at him if he does it again it worked with my uncle's dog

I need some advice on spotting and blood clots during pregnancy?

I am 7 weeks 3 days and I had an ultrasound on monday and we saw the baby and the heartbeat. I have been spotting off and on since my 5 week. Today is the first day that I noticed some small bloodclots with the spotting. Almost like a period type blood clot. Anyways should I call my dr or is everything ok? Has anyone else ever experienced this?I need some advice on spotting and blood clots during pregnancy?
I have a book that I would recommend that you buy for you to use throughout your pregnancy. I know when you're with OBGYN's they rush you in and out even though you have a lot of questions, and this book is really very good. Here's a little bit of it for you to consider, okay?:

';Bleeding in early pregnancy can be scary, but fortunately, it doesn't usually signal a problem. The two most common causes of first-trimester bleeding - neither of which is an indication of trouble - are:

    Normal implantation of the pregnancy in the uterine wall . . . which usually occures two to five days after conception. . .and Hormonal changes at the time menstruation would ordinarily have occured. Bleeding is usually light, though occasionally can seem like an actual period. . .as a precuation, however, any bleeding should always be reported to your doctor so it can be evaluated. Be precise in describing the bleeding: Is it intermittent or persistent? When did it start? Is the color bright or dark red, brownish or pink? Is it heavy enough to soak a sanitary pad in an hour, just occasional spotting, or somewhere in between? Is there any unusual odor? Do any tissue fragments seem to have been passed with the blood? Be sure to report, too any accompanying symptoms, such as excessive nausea and vomiting, cramps or pain of any kind, fever, weakness, and so on. Slight spotting or staining that is not accompanied by other symptoms is not considered an emergency situation;. . .It could be a subchorionic bleed, a common occurrence in which a small blood clot forms at the edge of the placenta. Such bleeding usually stops on its own and is not usually cause for concern';

But anyways the book goes on to say that it's important for you doctor to know about the bleeding because it could be indicative of a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or molar pregnancy.I need some advice on spotting and blood clots during pregnancy?
Well spotting is normal during pregancy. My older sister spotted 6 times during her whole pregancy. I wouldn't worry about it that much. But your really conisderd then I would go to the doctors and tell him/her your story and ask him will be everything be okay. Just to get it off your chest. (: GOOD LUCK!
go to your doctor. it usually happens to women when they are pregnant but it can be serious
Spotting I know for a fact it ok but the blood clots...i dunno you should get that chcked out
call your dr and ask that is the best advice that you are gonna get.
sorry to be the one but it sounds like your miscarrying get yourself to a hospital

I need some advice when it comes to buying an engagement ring?

    Hey everyone!

So I've been with my girlfriend for almost 5 years, just last month I decided I want to propose to her so I've been looking for rings and I never knew there were so many different things out there. Im hoping to get some different opinions when it comes to looking for rings. Thanks!I need some advice when it comes to buying an engagement ring?
The Engagement Ring Guide here is very helpful, including proposal stories/ideas. Great rings and prices.I need some advice when it comes to buying an engagement ring?
There are so many different opinions on what makes a good engagement ring that I think you should ask your girlfriend instead. If you don't want to flat-out ask her ';Hey what type of ring do you like?'; You can go to the mall one day under the pretense of clothes shopping or something and just casually stop at one of the mall jewelery stores... Make a comment like ';Wow, I didn't know there were so many different types of rings!'; and then maybe point out a couple you think look good and see what she says. That way you'll be less likely to buy her something she doesn't like!

    Good luck!
What is her skin tone? I, for one, would have looked awful in white gold, so my fiance got me a gold ring instead. Get something that suits her personality and her figure. If she's a tiny, sporty girl, don't get her something with a 1 ct stone and lots of diamonds on the band. Likewise, if she's into 1950's glamour, don't get her a simple band with a small sapphire.

Does she wear jewellery? If she does then you have it easy - not only can you look at what she wears, but the trick of getting her friend to pick out rings with her won't be a dead giveaway. If she doesn't then make your best guess, as no matter what you pick it will be very different.

The best thing you could do is ask her what kind of cut she likes; princess, round, etc. If you want to surprise her then I recommend just finding a beautiful solitaire that you could see her wearing. Take a look at all her rings and see if there is a pattern, are they small and simple, big and bold or fun and unique? Base the ring off what her tastes are and you can't go wrong. Trust me, she will LOVE whatever you get becuase it isn't the ring she will be so excited about- it will be you!

    Congrats and good luck!
you need to google the 4 c's and learn about good quality diamonds. the metal setting is secondary because for your anniversary down the road, the stones can be re-set with additional stones. so it's oK to start with something small now and add to it. don't waste a down payment on a house buying an engagement ring
Hi, I'm so happy for you!

Honestly, I think this is how most girls want it to happen:

Talk to her best friend. Have her best friend casually take her to a jewler while they are shopping and have her pick out her favorite ring. Most girls want something a little unique, so don't get something that is just a band and a diamond. Anyway, take her best friend's advice and go get her dream ring!!!!!!

    GOOD LUCK!!! You'll do awesome.
ASK HER, ASK HER, ASK HER! If you've been together for that long, surely you have an honest relationship. She's the one who will wear this for the rest of her life, it should be something she finds attractive.

Next time you are at the mall, stop in a store to get an idea about what settings she likes. DH surprised me with ring shopping one Saturday. It was a fantastic trip. We didn't leave with a ring %26amp; his proposal %26amp; the ring he did choose were great %26amp; exactly my taste.
While out Christmas shopping have her window shop with you. She doesn't have to know. There a bunch of ring places in Malls. Just stop in and look and see what catches her eye.

If you don't have a big budget (hello!!) I would suggest going to Coastal Scents.com for excellent makeup, and brushes. You can order samples of most of their stuff, for a $1 or $2! But their palettes are the way to go! I have most of them and I love them! And I just got an email that they are offereing 15% off any orders today...not sure if its just for subscribers, but try anyhow.
Sephora has stores in Calgary. Give them a call and see what they say. Also google cosmetics or makeup Calgary cn and see what comes up.
    M.A.C. Cosmetics

I want an Internet Radio receiver that isn't depend ant on a computer for Internet Radio listening.Any advice?

I would like to buy a stand alone Internet Radio receiver. I know they make them. They receive Internet Radio but they do not require the use of a PC.

I feel this would be the best thing as I have looked at Satalite Radio systems and they don't have certain stations I want, and they also have subscription fees. Internet Radio would not have fees for listening to various stations. You could get any station that is available on the Internet.

Any advice on where to look for one of these? Which one should I get?I want an Internet Radio receiver that isn't depend ant on a computer for Internet Radio listening.Any advice?
The only device I can think of does NOT require a computer but it does require a network. No player is going to pick up Internet radio without some type of internet connection. It also comes programmed for over 1000 internet radio stations.

What constitutes legal advice in the law world?

I am the working poor and cant afford a attorney and because I make $13,500 a year I made $500 dollars to much in a year to get a public defender, so I have no attorney. you would think I would be able to find legal advice such as how to do motions step by step and trail preperation on the internet but I cant because of this no one can give legal advice but a attorney. Why are people so scared to give legal advice on the internet. What constitutes legal advice in the law world?
For a very simple reason: giving legal advice can create real responsibilities and liabilities from the attorney to the person receiving the advice. Especially when the attorney doesn't have any personal contact with the client, there is a real risk that the advice the attorney gives will be wrong or inapplicable. And no attorney would risk his license in this way.

Almost every court has a self-help desk - that's a good place to start. Some legal libraries offer access to members of the public, and just about every county in the country has a law library. Finally, your local bar association may have a program for walk-in advice, or a list of attorneys in your area who work on a sliding scale. Find them in your phone book. What constitutes legal advice in the law world?
I don't know of any ';scared'; to give advice. I do not because most questions reveal so much lack of knowledge that one would have to start with a description of a pencil. Of those that are qualified to give advice, they make their living by giving advice and see no reason to give it away for free.

A question such as ';how do I prepare a motion'; is absolutely meaningless and any response would likewise be meaningless.

How to prepare a trial? Gather your evidence and marshal your arguments concerning the legal significance of that evidence. To explain that to you would take a year.
If you really describe to a legal person what exactly is up and what you want to do in details, they maybe able to tell you how much they can help you. I dont think what you really need is what is called legal Advice.

You need help with the procedures. You need to find out if what you are looking for is criminal procedure or Civil procedure. Once you do that. Then you will be in the right track.

To find out the procedure, find out if your case is a criminal or civil case.

In criminal cases, mostly the prosecutor / state prepars and starts all the actions. You just need to appear in court with the lawyer or yourself

In Civil cases you can start it yourself and thats where you need help I guess.

The civil procedure can be found in the internet. If you have any questions, email.

Does anyone have advice for finding a job, without having a drivers license?

    Hello,

I am trying to straighten out my life, just got done with some jail time, and am hoping to stay clear of trouble. I have too many fines to get a license right now, but i need a job, and i need to stay clean, and not mooch off of my family all my life, please tell me what i can do to get a job without a license or any advice for people looking for a second chance at life.Does anyone have advice for finding a job, without having a drivers license?
For most jobs you don't need a driver's license but I think you need to decide what type of job you're interested in.

Your statement that you're ';hoping'; to stay clear of trouble doesn't say much for your commitment to staying out of trouble, does it? I think you need to develop a more positive attitude, seek some career guidance, get a part-time job and, perhaps, go back to school. You didn't mention your age or whether, or not, you're on parole. If you are on parole, ask your parole officer for some assistance.Does anyone have advice for finding a job, without having a drivers license?
No advice, unfortunately. My son is going through the exact same thing. He's paying now for bad choices made in his 20's. He's serious about straightening out his life and is hoping SOMEONE will give him a chance. Don't give up on your efforts. As I told him, each (sometimes painful) step forward gets you closer to a productive, happy life! Please return here and post whether or not you've obtained employment and leave any advice for us. We'll do the same.
Not all jobs require a drivers license you know. Try going to Monster.com. What kind of job are you looking for? Be more specific.
Public transportation? A job within walking/biking distance? Ride to work with a friend? Where there's a will, theres a way....

Good luck on your new start :)

Don't ever fool around and things might get really rough but you have to deal with it and lets you have to complete a project, you must actually do it, cause if you decide to hang around with your friends you will get more screwed than Jessica Alba in a room with15 men. I am not joking, better off doing the things you need to do first than being with friends or parties or what ever cuase it won't be so fun if you are left back lol.Do you have advice for me going into 7th grade?
okay it will be fun and easy. I am going in to 8th. 7th grade was the most fun year so far at school. thing you need 2 know.

if everyone sees you with cute clothes and stuff they will think ur cool (which u probably r haha LOL)

    - try to get a boyfriend and make sure hes nice polite and hes hot and make sure hes a good person and make sure you really like him instead of just having a boyfriend to have one (if you understand)(CONFUSING)

    - everything will be great just have fun and be totally outgoing sorry idk if ur a boy or girl really sorryr

    GOOD LUCK!!!!
I am going to 8th grade yay!!!!!!!!!! i am going to be out of middle school!!!!!! okay DO NOT be nervous about 7th grade it's nothing interesting trust me really. pleeeeeeeessssseee pay attention to this

Be really, really friendly. Don't be afraid to ask questions from your seatmate, or make small talk. Or even make side remarks about your teacher like ';she's a really cool teacher'; and share them with your seatmate. Then when you make acquaintances, say Hi to them whenever they pass by, even though you or he/she is shy.:) Don't be bitchy! Better to be loved than to be feared, trust me. Not worth it.
Don't worry about it! Grade 7is really fun actualy and you will make lots of friends! Teachers are still soft on you and aren't how some people make it out, so just relax and act normal! And relationships at that age go noware... Honestly dumb idea
well for your grades: turn stuff in on time!

for everything else.. be yourself! i know everyone says that but its true! i just got out of seventh grade so i know(: ha oh and be outgoing. just dont think, do. and how you make friends. find people like you in your classes! hope i helped(:
Don't have sex. Don't talk behind other girls backs because they all way end up finding out. Try not to be obsessed with boy because eventually when your 30 you 'll look back and see that they aren't the same cuties they once were. Oh don't be bi it's stupid and sinful.
Don't try to do what you think other people want you to do.

Have confidence in yourself. Be who you are and understand that you will continue to change.
Honestly just be yourself. Everyone says it, but it's true. If you're going to a large school I gauruntee that someone will have the same interests as you.

  • What kind of advice can anyone give me for my college essay?

I am in my senior year of high school and I am freaking out about my college essay. I really want to go to the University of wisconsin in madison and I have no idea how to create my essay. The prompt goes something like this%26gt;Section 9 of the application (online and print) is the Statements Section. Students are asked to respond to the following two prompts:

The University of Wisconsin values an educational environment that provides all members of the campus community with opportunities to grow and develop intellectually, personally, culturally, and socially. In order to give us a more complete picture of you as an individual, please tell us about the particular life experiences, perspectives, talents, commitments and/or interests you will bring to our campus. In other words, how will your presence enrich our community?

If there is additional information you would like us to consider in reviewing your application, please share this with us as well. This is your opportunity to tell us things about yourself that have not been asked elsewhere if you believe they will help us become acquainted with you in ways different from courses, grades, and test scores. What kind of advice can anyone give me for my college essay?
    Avoid cliches. They'll know you're b.s.-ing it.

Stay informative and to the point, do not ramble!

Dont be modest. modesty wont get you into college. they want to know the good things about you,not how 'well some people say im good at...' they want confident individuals. (there is a fine line between modesty and bragging.)

note all AP classes (if applicable) that you took, sports, clubs, community service, etc.

    try looking at it from the perspective of the people at the college reading it. while you are writing, go back and reread it. and ask yourself, ';would i want this person going to MY college?';

also, before you start writing, make a list of everything you want to tell them. then list it on a side wordpad in an organized order. then you can be sure you didnt forget anything.

best of luck!!!!!!!!!!What kind of advice can anyone give me for my college essay?
I am applying to UWM as well, but i simply don't know how to get started.

Btw, I think that kitten's answer answers the second essay prompt.

The first prompt is different i suppose.

    Please help me...

    thank you

I am a speech therapist but I work in an office with occupational therapists and work very pretty closely with them. I think they are so similar that I could see myself being an occupational therapist and I would like it just as much.

Some pros to being a speech therapist are: it's EASY to find a job because there is a great demand, you can choose your setting (e.g. hospital, private practice, school), the money is decent (but you will never get rich being a speech therapist), it's rewarding.

The major con is that it takes a master's degree so takes quite a while to earn degrees, license to practice, etc. I can't think of too many other cons. It is a busy profession but that can be said for any job.

ETA- A master's in speech pathology would probably take you about 3 to 3 and 1/2 years. You would need to take some undergrad pre-requisites and unfortunately probably not many classes from your BS would transfer because the classes are so specific to speech and langauge disorders. Also, while you can do classes online, the degree (and license) has a requirement of 400 hours of clinical practica supervised by a licensed speech pathologist.

What kind of advice can you give to someone that wants to become an accountant?

Advice or tips for coping without air conditioning?

Hi does anybody have any tips/advice for cooling off without air conditioning---don't tell me to get air conditioning --I just want serious advice. Thank you.Advice or tips for coping without air conditioning?
keep all windows open for as late in the night as you can to get cooler night air into the house/apartment

close all windows , blinds, drapes in the morning before the sun gets too bright and starts to heat up the air

use a fan or few of them ( in the windows and on you ) while at home

If you are in a house with a basement?

use the basement to sleep in when really hot

drink lots of cool water to keep hydrated

wipe your skin down with a cool wet washcloth- drying off in the air of the fan will evaporate on the skin making you cooler

dont take hot showers or baths- tempid only

play in a sprinkler or pool or

opened fire hydrant ( fire dept approval only)Advice or tips for coping without air conditioning?
ceiling fan or any fan, sleep nude w/o covers, put box fan in window of one room and open window in ur bedroom at nite if safe, whether fan pulls air in or out it will cool house down at nite. I had to do all of the above when mine went out several weeks ago
Get a whole house fan. Put it upstairs by the doorway to your attic and keep the door open. Also ceiling fans are quiet, circulate the air nicely and keep the rooms cool.
Get a box fan (the square kind that are about the size of the bottom 1/2 of a window. Keep the window open (with a screen to keep the insects out) and place the fan on the window sill against the screen. You can pull cool air in really well this way... or if it's hot in your place, turn the fan where the air current is going out to get a draft and clear out the warmth.
just don't walk and move too mach and set down and drink A very could water
Get a ';Whole House Fan'; or a strong ';Air Circulator'; fan (cheaper). Cut a piece of plywood to fit in your attic hole in the ceiling. Cut a hole in the plywood to fit the fan. Make sure the fan is blowing INTO your attic! Get a fan that moves at least 7000 CFM. (cubic feet per minute) Harborfreight.com sells a good one for $59. (see link below)

I hope this works for you!

    http://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearc鈥?/a>
lots of ice cream ,or ice on the forhead.or buy a a.c. from a crack head..
One of my most favorite tricks is to get the house as cool as possible after the sun goes down. Use every fan you can get your hands on to blow out all of the residual heat that is still in the house from the heat of the day.

As soon as the sun starts to rise in the sky the next day, shut all of the windows up tight, %26amp; close up all of the curtains to try to keep the sun from heating up the house as much as possible. After the sun goes down, open things up again %26amp; start the cycle over.

It may seem warm in the house but usually it stays a few degrees cooler than the afternoon high. After a few days of this you will find it easier to keep the temperature down inside the house.

A lot of people make the mistake in believing it is better to have a cool breeze blowing through the house all day, but then warm air gets trapped inside, %26amp; at night the house becomes an oven compared to the cool of the night. That is when you really need your house to remain cool is when you are trying to sleep inside. If you haven't had a chance to clear out the residual heat in your home %26amp; you have a backyard, you could pitch a tent %26amp; sleep outside. It will be cooler out in the night air than it will be in a house saturated with the heat of the day.

Another way is to escape to a shopping mall or movie theatre for a few hours. It will give you a break from the heat.

    Hope that helps. :)
Take cold showers, go swimming, keep yourself hydrated and sleep in the basement of your home ...
I deal without A/C in Morocco every summer. We're talking 45 Celsius, constant heat. And I don't own a fan, either.

How do I deal? Mostly drink jugs and jugs of water, sit around in my underwear, complain about the heat, make smoothies in the blender (try this one: frozen strawberries, one banana, vanilla yogurt and a little bit of OJ).
Take cold showers, drink lots of cool liquids, fan yourself, dont do things to over heat yourself.
