Myself and my friend are planning a driving trip to America this year for a couple of weeks and would welcome any advice from anyone who has done this. Wich part, Route 66? The south? California? Is it best to pay for a package where it is all organised for you with itinerary or just to book it ourselves independantly. Obviously we would like to keep the price down as much as possible. Just book a car from this side of the pond for the airport you are landing at. Dollar and Alamo are the best but a little pricier.
Then you will find plenty of good motels and eateries on route. We never plan, we just go for it and have fun....
