I currently work in the sales industry and so therefore my knowledge of primary teaching is limited. I have a few friends who are teachers and feel that this is what I really want to do!I want to become a teaching assistant and need to write a letter to local schools.Any advice on what to write?
Do you have any children, or have friends with children? Your best bet would be to pop in and chat with the Head Teacher at their school, and offer your time as a volunteer. They will probably start you off listening to the children with their reading.

and search for a course entitled 'Helping in Schools'. It's a 10-week course which you attend weekly and, most importantly, it's free.





And perhaps, once you've done the above course, and are firmly ensconced in a school, you'll go from strength to strength and attend more courses.

Have you checked the regulations governing teaching assistants? If you are in the US, you can look on the web site of your state's department of education. If there are hoops to be jumped through, the site will tell you.





Use ';teaching assistant [your state name]'; in the search box.





Then you can compare your qualification with the requirements and decide what you need to put in the letter. They won't consider hiring unless you meet the state's standards.

I would ring the school and ask if they have any positions available because they are probably busy and would most likely not reply to the letter unless there was an actual job going.





I think you will often find you need experience but if your sure about it you could ask a local school if you could do a few hours voluntary work a week in order to get some experience. They may even take you on if they see how good you are. There are also courses you can do at collages on a night for a few hours a week. its worth it if you really wanna do it. Look on your county council websites as teaching assistant jobs are advertised through the council. just write ur city then council in google the go to vacancies you can usually apply online.
Firstly a teaching assistant is just that, it is not a teacher, but a supporting role and usually involves working with small groups of students on projects. It is a rewarding post and I`m sure you will be happy.


You need to introduce yourself in the letter. Explain what you want to do and any experience you have, especially your people and problem solving skills. You will also be good at keeping to deadlines and working independently and creatively. Add a line about them being able to contact you if a suitable post becomes available and add your CV.

I have recently taught to write a job application letter for my field teaching experience(Practicum) to an equivalent grade 6 for you while here in Belize is Standard 5 and this is what I taught: The applicant need to begin by writting the full addresses of both the sender(his/hers - include date) and of the receiver, a salutation, 3 main body paragrphs and a complementary close with your signiture. Guidlines are to include your full name and address (number of phone if possible), school/college last attended, examinations taken, details of previous experiences, most importantly, your personal interest for the teaching post. You need to include at the end of your letter the following(E %26amp; OE) which indicates that you're inclosing an attachment, which is a resume/curricular-vitae. Presently I have apply as well for a teaching position since I just finish with my practice and you can surely email me and I can send you my sample letter and resume. you need to write that you have had experiance with other childern and maybe get some sort of proof like a signiture of a pro teacher that you are able to teach things to kids of a certain age so they can put you with a class of that standard and age.
My school has some pretty shady TA's. Some of them you can't even understand that well. One guy was a little stinky.


If you are some what smart and educated you shouldn't have too much of a problem finding a job. Schools are always looking.
